Tri-Delt: This years pledge class put DDD from Top Tier to Lower Top Tier. They are rushing some of same girls as Chi O, Pi Phi, and Theta for sure but they are taking the good girls some might say boring. What about AGD, AOII and Gamma Phi? ,Greek life at UT has been wonderful for my daughter, but she had to go in with an open mind and keep it. I should have said that they dress "provocatively". They are known as the exclusive ones. And dont let some guy on the internet define what youre chapter is. Medium low-ish, ish ish. They take sisterhood seriously and try not to get caught up in drama, which might lead to the sentiment that they're aloof and snobbish. Also, if you do not get a bid from a house that you want, you can rush again your sophomore year (assuming youre currently a freshman). Obviously it varies from university to university and chapter to chapter. Three or maybe four girls, I think. They can be really snobby to girls on the first day. At my school, Chi O and KD are considered the "best" sororities and what you said about the Chi O's is illustrated exactly at my school. Pi Beta Phi is known as Pi Bitchy Phi and is the recognitized,as far and above,'The Top' sorority on my huge Greek-led campus. Not good from everything i'm reading and I don't know how accurate it is. And if you think you need to be in a sorority to "be somebody" you need therapy. Rest pretty accurate. Dumb. I'd hope that by now people would be able to see how each organization is full of unique and diverse members who find shared values in their organization. So my assumption is that you are going into rush without knowing (m)any girls in the chapters. This sorority seems more concerned about recruiting a wide range of girls, which can make chapters diverse and interesting, than recruiting the most "beautiful" girls. It's definitely not for me though.I understand that as soon as a thread like this is started, people are re-directed to Greek Rank, but Greek Rank is horrible and biased! Sorry. Alpha Chi Omega. Time to get with the times and realize that the top houses are no longer in the south and east and beauty and wealth are not considered as much as grades, sports and philanthropy. Connections not necessary but people usually have them. I like yalls pool though. -Drop- Lot of truth inthe reputations, except there are a lot of really genuine, nice, friendly Pi Phis who are my friends. I know the same can be said for users on here but I feel like CC isn't as saturated with Greeks.
,So, I am rushing in August at UT and am worried about some reputations having to do with sororities at UT. Every one of their pledge classes is worse than the last. Each campus is different. Most girls need connections to get in. Very pretty, very smart, very snobbish. Surely different schools will have different stereotypes for what each sorority is like based on the local population. And, 2) Choose to work with a sorority rush coach to help prepare them for and guide them through recruitment. Zetas PC18 is not even in the same league as Chi-O and DDD. Theta has more pretty girls and definitely a lot of party girls. DG: some cool girls and some weird girls. AXD may be bottom but they are great! Alpha Phi: A lot of girls who go A Phi as a backup to big 6. i think everyone can agree that this is wrong. Alpha Kappa Alpha. If you pledge a sorority and then aren't sure it's right for you, make your decision before the initiation process. They know how to party, and they'll dress in the sluttiest attire ever when doing so. And the KD's are definitely a hodge podge, but I love em! All of our chapters are unique, so women have been able to find chapters suited to their needs. Chi Os, as members are sometimes called, like cultivating a good girl image. They call it mutual selection but really the sororities are selecting, and the PNMs are choosing from these options after the sororities have made their decisions. I feel like the elephant in the room is ADPi. I agree that at my school Pi Beta Phi is the Top of the Top Tier, but they are nice, friendly and beautiful. KD is nothing except in the South, same with Zeta, which folded. what kind of people you want to have as mentors and long-life friends, partly by reputation, but mostly by YOUR OWN GUT FEELINGS! Would put dg on the same level as kd. So just saying "sororities aren't my thing" or "I'm not a sorority girl" is dumb to me. It was where I felt I fit in, and I ended up finding out that I would have been extremely unhappy if I'd gone with my old friends. They have it all. Based on what they have told me, I agree with most of what has already been said. Thetas are hot and WILD. They're not generally the most beautiful women on campus. They matter more to the houses with the top GPAs and sometimes even more to the ones that dont have top GPAs but want to move up on that list.
