Stephen Michael Swank, 73, died at 1:11 pm on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood, California, surrounded by love from his son, Dan Swank, and his daughter, Hilary Swank.
Stephen (Steve) was born April 16, 1948, in Creston, Iowa, the son of Glen Swank and Marian (Allenspach) Swank.
He married Judy (Clough) Swank on September 10, 1966, and had two children, Daniel Lewis Swank on February 12, 1967, and Hilary Ann Swank on July 30, 1974.
He graduated from Mount Ayr High School, Class of 1967. Following graduation, he attended and graduated from Southwest Community College in Creston, Iowa, and then attended Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1969 during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi, Fairchild AFB, Spokane, Washington, and March AFB, Riverside, California.
He left the Air Force and moved his family to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he attended the Lincoln School of Business and then the University of Nebraska, majoring in Business Administration and Accounting, where he graduated with a B.S.
